Hello EEC friends, community members, and environmental stewards. Below in this message you will find the 10/13 agenda with associated materials, community connections, save the dates, and in case you missed it.
On Wednesday, we'll have discussion on focus areas of housing & development (work we're doing with One Northside), energy (an efficiency program presentation), stewardship (October tree planting & Save Our Ash Coalition), and waste (Pumpkin Smash & business composting)! We'll also give an update on our journey to federal non-profit status and event happenings.
We look forward to seeing you soon!

Community Connections
ANDERSONVILLE FARMER'S MARKET PLASTICWARE COLLECTION
In an effort to mindfully remove plastics and encourage compostable utensils we are asking everyone to clean out their kitchens from single-use plastic cutlery. The Andersonville Chamber of Commerce has partnered with The Andersonville Sustainable Community Alliance and WasteNot Compost and will be collecting take-out plastic utensils at the remaining Andersonville Farmers Markets (Wednesdays, October 6-20). Completely wrapped, unused plasticware will be donated to A Just Harvest, an incredible organization that fights poverty and hunger in Rogers Park and the greater Chicago community by providing nutritious meals daily while cultivating community and economic development and organizing across racial, cultural, and socioeconomic lines in order to create a more just society.
COMMUNITY TOOL SHARING
Edgewater Mutual Aid Network is working on building a directory of neighbors who have tools that they are willing to share with other neighbors. If you're interested in borrowing or lending tools, sharing or learning new DIY skills, or have anything else you'd like to say about tool sharing in our neighborhood, please fill out this form!
