Environmental Justice Permitting in Illinois-HB4093/SB2906
Historically, preferential permitting processes have plagued front of the line communities throughout the state of Illinois. HB4093/SB2906 would break down barriers so that communities are able to engage in the decision making that determines what forms of industry are allowed to move into their neighborhoods. From expanding civic engagement in public meetings to ensuring residents have the ability to challenge permitting decisions, the legislation is essential in cultivating healthy, equitable communities across Illinois. Use this action alert link below or contact your legislators directly and urge them to support HB4093/SB2906.
