Public Awareness
Mission:  Provide accurate information on sustainability and our environment via multiple platforms

Expand reach of EESP and add volunteers via aggressive social media and email sign up
  • Encourage resident knowledge of, and participation in, sustainability issues
  • Make information generally available to the Community so as to raise awareness regarding sustainability
  • Publicize the Edgewater Environmental Sustainability Project(EESP) and create a campaign that will encourage residents and businesses to participate
  • EESP volunteer teams will meet directly with Block Clubs, Faith Groups and our public officials to introduce new team members and reintroduce the mission of EESP.  In addition, ask what each group needs from EESP.
The following are areas of focus
a) Minimize consumption by reducing, recycling and reusing products, materials and water.
b) Initiate green events to raise the community's level of understanding regarding energy efficiency, renewable energy, organic and natural foods, etc.
c) Publicize all aspects of the Edgewater Environmental Sustainability project with residents, block clubs, faith groups, public officials, schools & Universities and other environmental groups.
d)Promote neighborhood activities that encourage cooperative behavior to clean, green and beautify the community
